Selected filters in dashboard are not retained when moving to "Things" view

Selected filters in dashboard are not retained when moving to "Things" view.

Steps To Reproduce:

1. Select Applications in right hand dropdown at top
2. Select "SSO" from left hand dropdown
3. Select "Things" in top dropdown or else "Applications" in "Things" widget. 

Actual Result: only SSO applications are shown in list (expected behaviour).

1. Select Domains in right hand dropdown at top 
2. Select "Domain expired" in left hand dropdown.
3. Select "Things" in top dropdown or else "Domains" in "Things" widget.

Actual Result: no filter remains and no data is shown.

Expected result: we should be retaining the last set filter on the view.

Root cause:

This is a direct consequence of defect #1766 in GitLab

Resolution:

At this stage, no fix is available to mitigate this issue.
